Dyke Road, Hornby, NY 14830

Property Description

Welcome to White Oak Acres—a pristine 54.33-acre hunting and recreational property in the Town of Hornby, Steuben County. Managed by a professional forester, this piece of land is packed with big white oaks, red oaks, chestnut oaks, soft maples, and beech. Light timbering done a while back opened up pathways and logging trails for easy riding and hiking, while leaving plenty of mature trees ready if you want to harvest more timber. The property runs up the side of a hill to the top, where a big upper ridge gives you natural deer runs and great spots to bag your buck. Access the property using the shared driveway off Dyke Road—ask your agent for details—which leads right into a level clearing that's perfect for parking ATVs, a camper, or setting up your cabin basecamp. The trail network winds all over the hill so you can easily get around with an ATV or side-by-side. With a good offer, the sellers will leave 1 tree stand and 2 shooter shacks set up in proven spots where they've taken plenty of deer. In fact, the owner fills all his tags every year with 8 pt bucks or bigger. All of the timber rights convey, and half of the mineral, gas, and oil rights will transfer to the new owner. The land is enrolled in the 480-a Forest Tax Savings Program to keep property taxes low. While this isn't a building site, it's a fantastic setup to park a camper and bring your buddies along to hunt. This piece of hunter's heaven is located just 5 miles from I-86 and downtown Corning. The owner will personally show qualified buyers and agents around the property. NOTE: There is a For Sale sign at the base of the shared drive, but absolutely no trespassing without permission to tour the land, as this is an active hunting spot.
