Property Description

Don't let the exterior fool you! There is an incredible amount of space hiding inside this piece of Natural Bridge history. Originally built as the community's fire depot, this substantial building still carries reminders of its past, from soaring ceilings designed to accommodate fire trucks to the original cistern beneath the former garage where water was once stored and ready when the community needed it. Most recently used as a nonprofit distribution and storage center for clothing, toys and household goods, the building is ready for someone with the vision to uncover its next purpose. The first floor offers impressive ceiling height and wide-open, flexible space, but head upstairs and the scale continues. The massive second floor features equally impressive ceilings and the beginnings of what the owner once envisioned as a spacious apartment. Framing is already in place along with some newer plumbing and electrical work, giving the next owner a head start, and a glimpse of just how much potential exists within these walls. An additional third-floor bonus area adds even more usable space. There is work to be done. The property is being sold as-is and currently has no heat source or septic system. But what it does have is difficult to recreate: tremendous space, solid bones, local history and a location right in the heart of the hamlet, neighboring two of Natural Bridge's favorite local stops. Restore it. Reimagine it. Put it back to work. Whether its next chapter becomes a workshop, garage, studio, storage facility, community-minded space, unique conversion or something entirely unexpected, this old fire depot is waiting for someone who can see the possibilities behind those doors.
